What does NymForm do? NymForm is an Excel add-in that helps you get a formula from an AI model without sending the model your spreadsheet as it is. You select a range, mark the columns that should stay private, and ask a question. The model returns a formula, NymForm checks it, and Excel calculates it on your real data. Getting started
What data does an AI model actually receive? By default, a description of your data's structure (sheet and table names, the range address, headers, column types, simple counts and any notes you add to columns) and your question, with no data cells. If you include sample rows, values in the columns you mark private are replaced before anything is sent: by default, text with stand-ins such as PERSON_001, numbers with a coarse range such as 80000-89999 and dates with a month such as 2026-03. Columns you don't mark private are sent as they are. You see the request before you send it; the one exception is an automatic correction request when the model's reply can't be read, which is checked the same way and shown in the Log. Mark every sensitive column private, start with Structure only, read the request on the What gets sent screen before you choose Send, and check the formula before you insert it. The idea behind NymForm is simple: useful context, less exposure. Many formulas need only the shape of your data, not its values. When you include sample rows, the values you marked private are replaced.
Alpha status
These pages describe NymForm for Excel v0.1.0-alpha, which is not publicly available yet. It is installed by sideloading, works with OpenRouter as its only model provider, and has limits that are listed plainly in Alpha limitations. The privacy and security statements in these docs are based on the add-in's source code and project documentation for this version, and the main ones are checked against that source whenever the docs are built for a release.
